I'm convinced the reasons there is a rushed/bad ranked system in place now is partially because of Reddit players taking the shit out of the devs. properly is MASSIVE, wich is why before any ranked system was in place everyone in Reddit was in outrage that there was no ranked system in place. This and the curve it takes to learn to not fumble the controls and learn the game maps killers survivors etc. It takes an experienced player 10 seconds to whipe out a new player learning the game. It had to deal with the DBD community who picked up the game mechanics up A LOT faster than new people trying the genre and had their experience COMPLETELY ruined by these toxic fucks. None of the big games are EVEN CLOSE to the genre of propnight wich is why people don't explore it. It already is a VERY niche genre that isn't mainstream appealing. The game currently is still not funded to a degree where they are in a position to be able to advertise. No advertising before launch, it just dropped out of nowhere. The game's main issues for a low playerbase are the same as at launch. Low playerbase is not the foundation of your problem. No mainstream game comes close to propnight right now wich is why many players will simply not explore it. Add to this that the game isn't cheap to just ' pick up / try out ' right now and that it is an incredibly niche genre. When it dropped it was literally unannounced and to this day it just is not reaching a lot of new people. The game on release and currently is still not being advertised large scale. This all ties in to the reason why this game is in this state. Also a new character would probably create some players short term but once again nobody is going to stick around for long just because of a new killer release. New characters, people get annoyed because they keep teasing and pushing back killers, the devs are again doing this because they need to create interest in the game while PROBABLY being nowhere near to finish a new character yet, but people seem to miss this. These are additions you personally would want. Also no player CURRENTLY PLAYING will play something he doesn't enjoy just to grind out skins. The obvious issue is low playerbase, but NOBODY is going to pick up or return to propnight because of cosmetics additions. A battlepass would also be a good way to keep people interested and financially supplement the devs. Keep the matches fun instead of sweaty, give us things to work for, and prioritize new content. (Though the killer store wouldnt be bad if it wasnt for banshee players) Propnight cheap update#I think the 2.0 update was a big misstep, because it was unnecessary new mechanics over actual content. They teased sheetman a month ago (though rumor is hes very close). They teased propmaster in december then shelved them. Even re-skins of existing survivors with a new starting item. ![]() Propnight cheap skin#Most players have their favorite skin right now and just stockpile coins, or simply dont have a reason to play. For the short term, cheap re-shades or color swaps would do. Almost 20 minutes in a match with bad teammates and nothing to show for it. I cant tell you how many 1v1s ive lost where i did 3 or 4 gens myself. Killers getting coins per kill but survivors not getting coins per gen is a bad system, especially while they struggle with balancing sides. Games are the most fun when everyone leaves a match with something to show for it. Also think MMR was unnecessary to introduce with such a low playerbase still. I think the building and killer store were a misstep for where we are right now. The game needs to capitalize on what people like instead of trying new things. The only way to fix the que switches are with more players or longer ques, unfortunately. ![]()
